The difference starts with the screening. we know what the results mean and how to use them to build your program!

A safe and effective program cannot be built on a weak foundation. We take the time and we have the knowledge to build you a solid base.  We devote 2, 1-hour sessions to goal planning, assessment, and exercise instruction. We tell you upfront what you're doing, why you're doing it, and how to do it. We build programs based on YOU, not by your age or how "fit" you look. Using a thorough screening and assessment process we create a one-of-a-kind plan to help you meet, and exceed, every expectation you have for yourself. When looking for a trainer make sure you know what tests they use and exactly how they use the results to build your workout. Make them be specific. If you're working with a quality trainer, you won't even have to ask.
Download a free 9-page booklet on "How to Choose an Age-Friendly Personal Fitness Trainer". Published by the International Council on Active Aging (ICCA), this booklet includes what questions to ask and includes a questionnaire you can print and have trainers fill out. Compare us and you'll see why we stand out from the rest.

Detailed Preparation
We understand everybody has different abilities. We know that everyone has their own unique goals and reasons. That's why we spend as much time preparing for your program as we do writing it. First, we listen to you tell us what YOU want to achieve. Next, you walk us through your current health and ability status. We're happy to work with your healthcare provider to make sure everything we do is safe for you. We add the results of a safely administered functional assessment, chosen based on your  goals, to give us your starting point. Only then do we build your safe, effective, one-of-a-kind custom program, that will get you where you want to go.

Painstaking Planning
After we create your plan, we go through every exercise with you. We explain why we chose each one and how it helps get you to your goals. We explain and show you the way to do each one correctly so you get the full benefit from every exercise without having to worry about injury. To maintain your motivation, you have to feel comfortable with every exercise in your plan. At the end of the planning session we evaluate everything you've told us, then we go back and create your perfect custom-made workout.

Full-Scale Implementation
We build a relationship when we train together. As we learn more about you when we train together, we can update your program so it fits who you are, keeping motivation high. We create intermediary goals so you see the growth along the way. We look for ways to capitalize on your growing capabilities, increasing the effort as your performance increases, so you see even greater growth. When you tell us it's getting boring, we change it. When you see growth slow, we give you ways to shake it up and reinitiate gains. If your determination ever falters, we motivate. We navigate so all you have to do is drive. Our job is to get you to your goal quickly, safely, and fully engaged.
